For my Husband and myself it would be a rather moot issue so we do not do such, though it is not a point of concern. When I used to dance (partly due to the era and in some cases regions), single women and couples were rather rare. On a rare occasion you'd get in the swinging couple, or the couple where the guy is trying to convince the gal to begin dancing, or where the guy wants to inspire/encourage his gal's bi-sexuality, or where she is making him take her to find out (or more embarrass him) what goes on there. Though it was of little concern to me, women who do get into it frankly overstepped the rules. When they did at a place where it would not be a problem, the whole concept of "I did such for money, this was a job, my livelihood" typically eluded them. So they'd be insulted when informed that "just because they were female that didn't make it free." Worse still, unlike the men who would simply argue the point, women would become very insulted if you insisted upon "safe sex." So in the end if it was in a club, it simply wasn't worth the trouble typically, so I'd let the other dancers focus on them.

As far as the U.S. goes, I can only comment between '88-'94, so things very well may have changed as more criminal elements have been replaced by corporations (the bigger criminals), even Harry Mohney of Deja Vu fame (and much seedier beginnings in Michigan when things were good) having jumped on the corporate bandwagon (oddly, Sturman (who had ties with Mohney) started the trend of playing it like a straight business, that would put him out of business and land him in prison, oddly like he put the mob on the straight and narrow).

In any case, most of the clubs I danced in contracted me specifically for being available for sex (as it sure as hell wasn't my dancing or looks). Though obviously there were a lot of straight clubs, and clubs where the dancers broke the rules, there were just as many times-a-lot that had areas set up for such work, took their cuts, and encouraged it out of as many gals as possible. Without a doubt, sex in a strip-club will not be the best sex money can have, and is typically when you get all said and done more expensive than using outcall, massage parlors or even brothels at times... but it is or was there if you knew where to look and how to get it. Sometimes it was all the guy could do to not get it pushed on him.

There used to be a strip that had five clubs in a row, that was on my way home. These were small seedy places, with usually only 3 or 4 dancers. I would stop for a beer on the way home. The place was locked down and everybody inside was searched. They arrested a couple customers for drugs possession. There was some weed in the dressing room, so every dancer lost her licence(local ordinance). The owner was charged with obstruction of justice and that was the end of the last club on the strip.

Then I'm guessing you haven't been in a while. I remember the days when they actually paid gals to dance, drinks were not too pricy for what you got, and so it was like a party, the gals more than glad to sit in that then they would get tipped along with get paid... So yap away.

The last few times I stopped in places, it literally blew my mind. $5 crack-whores were not so pushy. That all could only speak two words "wanna dance?" (as in lap dance). Anything but yes and they'd walk on, and I'm a gal who clearly had money. No style, no working anyone, nothing. There's up market and then there's down market. Around here strip clubs are regulated and fairly closely watched. A dancer has to have a licence and any drug or prostitution arrests mean no licence.

The Gold Club had it figured out. The dancers are private contractors. They set their own schedule, but there's a catch. The club is open from 2pm to 2am. If a girl comes in, she has to stay 4 hours. If she comes in after 6pm, there's a $30 locker fee. If she come in after 8pm, the fee is $50. The fee is paid in cash to the house mother. That's what they call her. This gives an incentive to come in for the afternoon, when there's less customers. If she wants to work the busy hours, she starts off in the hole. The dancer keeps all her tips. There's no commission on drinks. A good 4 hour shift can bring anything from $400 to $700. It varies widely from night to night.

Yes you are correct about the different markets however I have to laugh at the regulations cause it doesn't take much to make someone look the other way after all business is business and everyone wants a piece of the pie.

 

I was a former server at a club and used to occasionally bring guys I was seeing there to see their reactions and if their view of me changed. If they couldn't handle it I knew it was a waste of time. It was like a jealousy test on steroids.

 

We once had a all nude strip club in are area but it got closed down. It was ran much the way Bron decribed. With the exception of it was byob. They ended up have to pay 300k in back wages to former employees. The local ordinances are rather strict as well topless only in town and only pre-existing clubs are the only ones given licenses.
