“Anti-lift brackets are a crucial addition to any home security system. They prevent criminals from lifting sliding gates or tampering with gate motors, giving homeowners peace of mind and safeguarding their families and belongings,” he said.

Fisher shared the following tips.

What are anti-lift brackets?

Anti-lift brackets are security devices designed to prevent criminals from lifting sliding gates or tampering with gate motors. These brackets add an extra layer of protection to your property, giving you peace of mind and safeguarding your family and belongings.

How do anti-lift brackets work?

Anti-lift brackets work in three key ways:

  • Prevents forced entry: By blocking intruders from lifting the gate off its tracks, anti-lift brackets prevent unauthorised access to your property.
  • Secures the gate motor: Anti-lift brackets protect your gate motor from theft and tampering, ensuring that your gate remains functional and secure.
  • Durable construction: Made from hardened steel, anti-lift brackets are built to last, providing long-lasting security for your property.

Why install anti-lift brackets?

Installing anti-lift brackets offers numerous benefits such as enhanced security, preventing unauthorised access and protecting your property from potential threats, safeguarding your gate motor from damage or theft, saving you costly repairs, and is a cost-effective solution to boost your home security.

Choosing the right anti-lift bracket

When selecting an anti-lift bracket, consider the following factors:

  • Material: Opt for heavy-duty galvanised steel or hardened metal for maximum security.
  • Size and fit: Ensure a snug fit with the gate and track to prevent obstruction.
  • Weather resistance: Choose rust-resistant coatings to withstand the elements.

Installation and additional security measures

To ensure effective installation, follow these steps:

  • For sliding gates: Install the bracket above the gate to prevent lifting, securing it with strong anchor bolts or welding.
  • For gate motors: Use a protective bracket or housing over the motor, securing it with heavy-duty bolts and a lockable cover.

To further reinforce your gate security, consider adding:

  • Anti-theft bolts to secure the motor
  • Security beams and alarms to detect intruders
  • CCTV and remote monitoring for 24/7 surveillance
  • Hire a qualified technician for professional installation.
